Ledley King could make a surprise return to the England side for the last-16 showdown with Germany.
The Tottenham defender, who sustained a groin injury during the first half of the group opener against the United States two weeks ago, trained with his England team-mates on Friday.
And coach Fabio Capello confirmed to Match of the Day: “All the players trained. Everyone is fit to play.
“It is a good feeling because if they trained they are fit to play.”
King faces competition for the starting spot alongside John Terry with Jamie Carragher back from suspension, while Matthew Upson impressed during the 1-0 victory over Slovenia that kept England in the tournament.
Coral expert, former referee Graham Poll, said: "Upson took full advantage of Carragher’s suspension with a solid performance alongside Terry. But he was fourth choice to line up with the Chelsea captain after Rio Ferdinand, King and Carra.
"King is just starting to train again while the Liverpool man will be available after his ban.
"So who will start next to Terry in the last 16 match? We think West Ham’s Upson has done enough."
But while it was good news for England on the injury front, Germany have been less fortunate with the news that striker Cacau will miss Sunday’s game after straining an abdominal muscle during training.
