Fabio Capello has confirmed he does know his 23-man squad for the World Cup – but he will not be revealing it until Tuesday.
The England coach watched his side labour to another friendly victory against Japan on Sunday, and was quizzed immediately after the final World Cup warm-up.
He told ITV Sport.: “I know my 23 players, but you’ll have to wait.”
England fell a goal behind in Graz but own goals from Marcus Tulio Tanaka and Yuji Nakazawa gifted the Three Lions a 2-1 win.
Capello admitted he had been far more pleased with the showing after the interval following another poor first-half display.
“I think we played better, faster, found space,” he continued.
“It was an interesting game for me; I saw a lot of players and learnt more.”
