Ledley King favourite with William Hill - Bookmaker to issue Rio Ferdinand refunds

William Hill are betting on who will replace Rio Ferdinand in England's opening game against the United States, and make Ledley King a hot favourite to play alongside John Terry.

Spokesman Graham Sharpe said: "It is ironic that we are now relying on a player who everyone thought would struggle with the World Cup schedule."

William Hill confirmed it will refund bets on all markets involving Rio Ferdinand, including player to play most minutes, first player subbed, top scorer etc.

The bookmaker will also pay out to those who backed Michael Dawson to make the final 23-man squad.
