Paddy Power has pledged to pay children’s charity Barnardo’s £2500 for every Wayne Rooney goal at the World Cup.
With Rooney carrying England's hopes on his broad shoulders the bookie has struck a risk free bet with Barnardo’s, ensuring the charity a payout every time the England striker hits the back of the net.
Rooney is amongst the favourites to be the tournament’s top scorer at 11/1 so can be expected to score several goals in England’s quest for World Cup glory.
