Germany coach Joachim Loew was buoyed by his side’s 3-1 friendly victory over Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Loew’s World Cup preparations have been hampered in recent weeks with the loss off Michael Ballack, Rene Adler, Heiki Westermann and Christian Traesch to injury.
But Loew’s side showed resilience against Bosnia, whose own World Cup bid fell agonisingly short in play-offs, coming back from a goal down to win.
Loew said: “We went up a gear in the second half.
“It was great how the team increased the pace. We have great potential and have all worked very hard, but we also have a great deal of hard work ahead of us.
“We have a good team, we are in a good mood and we know we can play well in this tournament.
“I have complete confidence.”
Germany are 14/1 with the most bookmakers, including Betfred, StanJames, William Hill and Coral, to win the World Cup for the first time in 20 years.
