Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon is a doubt for Sunday’s game against New Zealand due to back injury.
Buffon was replaced at half-time during the 1-1 draw with Paraguay on Monday night, and coach Marcello Lippi admitted the 32-year-old had felt the problem before kick-off.
He said: “Gianluigi has a bit of a problem in his back. He had an ache during warm-up and then he said he wanted to play, but after the first half he said he couldn’t continue.
“It’s unfortunate as we lost a substitution which would have been handy for the game.
“I don’t know how bad the injury is or how long it will take him to recover. The doctors will have to tell us that.”
Reigning world champions Italy can be backed at 20/1 with SkyBet to retain the Jules Rimet Trophy.
