Holland coach Bert van Marwijk will allow Arjen Robben to decide when he is ready to return to action.
The Dutch winger has sat out both World Cup group games after suffering a hamstring injury just before the tournament.
But Holland have coped well in his absence, booking their place in the last 16 with a game to spare thanks to wins over Denmark and Japan.
And ahead of Thursday’s dead rubber against Cameroon, van Marwijk said he will let Robben make the decision about whether or not he will play.
He said: “Arjen knows his own body best and he will let me know when he is ready.
“It can be in the next game or it can be in the knockout phase. He must take the decision. I’d prefer that he is used only when fit.”
Robben may want to make an appearance against Cameroon to get some match fitness before the knockout stage, and Paddy Power are currently offering odds of 12/1 on Robben opening the scoring.
