Uruguay striker Suarez will sit out Tuesday night's World Cup semi-final showdown due to suspension after his deliberate handball in the quarter-final victory against Ghana denied the African nation a last-gasp winner.

The Uruguayans went on to win a penalty shootout and the incident has left a sour taste with many - but Stekelenburg could not resist having a little fun with it.

The Dutchman, who also admitted Suarez's absence is a major boost for his side, said: "I sent Luis a text message saying that he has been the best goalkeeper of the tournament.

"I think he should get the Lev Yashin Award."

Holland are 3/5 favourites with TitanBet to win in 90 minutes, with Uruguay 117/20 and the draw 13/5.
