Fernando Torres and Cesc Fabregas were named in Spain’s final 23-man squad for the World Cup.

Liverpool striker Torres (knee) and Arsenal midfielder Fabregas (leg) are both recovering from injuries that prematurely ended their domestic campaigns, but Spain coach Vicente del Bosque expects them to be fit in time for the tournament in South Africa.

Also in the squad is Torres’ Anfield team-mate Jose Reina, while there are places for uncapped trio Victor Valdes and Pedro Rodriguez of Barcelona, and Athletic Bilbao’s Javi Martinez.

Of the 30-men named in Spain’s preliminary squad, missing out on the finals are Diego Lopez, David De Gea, Cesar Azpilicueta, Marcos Senna, Santi Carloza, Dani Guiza and Alvaro Negredo.
