Fernando Torres believes Spain have a real chance of adding the World Cup to their European crown this summer.

Torres made his much-anticipated return from knee surgery in the 6-0 rout of Poland, getting himself on the scoresheet in the process.

The Liverpool star told AS: “We know if we play like that it is hard to lose. We have a great chance of winning this World Cup.”

And Torres was delighted to finally get back on the pitch after spending the last two months on the sidelines.

“I really wanted to play but the knee was not as good as I thought and I had to wait a bit.

“It was nice to come back and score because when you go so long without playing you have more desire than ever,

“It’s over now and we can say that I’m back with my team-mates.”

Ladbrokes are offering 16/1 on Torres claiming the Golden Boot and Spain winning the World Cup, while team-mate David Villa is the 12/1 favourite to do the double.
