Spain officials have played down worries about the fitness of Andres Iniesta just days before the World Cup begins.
The Barcelona man had to be withdrawn with a thigh problem during Tuesday’s 6-0 hammering of Poland in a warm-up match.
A similar problem kept Iniesta on the sidelines for a large part of Barca’s La Liga campaign, but sporting director Fernando Hierro insists the midfielder will be okay.
“It was a precaution more than anything else,” Hierro said.
“He has a slight strain. He’s fine, it isn’t a problem.”
Star striker Fernando Torres marked his return to action with a goal in the rout, while David Villa, David Silva, Cesc Fabregas, Xabi Alonso and Pedro were also on target.
