World Cup-bound Fabregas wants Arsenal future sorted

Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas wants his club future sorted out before he heads to the World Cup with Spain.

The 23-year-old midfielder has long been a target of Barcelona and has admitted he would one day like to return to the Catalan giants, where he began his career in the youth academy.

But for now, Fabregas wants a clear head going into Spain's opening World Cup fixture against Switzerland on June 16.

He told Marca: "I want to make a decision about my future before the start of the World Cup.

"It's impossible to perform at a tournament like the World Cup if you're not fully focused on the sporting aspects of the game."

"I don't want to be distracted by transfer talk."

After five frustrating years without a trophy, speculation has been mounting that Fabregas wants out of the Emirates Stadium.

But he insisted: "I am very happy at Arsenal and I am in no hurry to leave."
