Supermarket giant Tesco is 3/1 to take over as England sponsor with Nationwide rumoured to be on the verge of axing its current deal following the dismal World Cup campaign.

The favourites to become the new sponsor of Fabio Capello's team are Tesco, while Barclays and Santander are 4/1 and 5/1 respectively.

Whether it is a joke or not the German Tourist Board can be backed at 1000/1 after the Germans dumped England out 4-1 in their last 16 clash in South Africa.

Ladbrokes spokesman Nick Weinberg said: "Having consigned English football to the doldrums it's perhaps only right that the Germans leave their mark on a more permanent basis."
