Italian side Palermo have accepted a bid in excess of £28m from Tottenham for World Cup stars Simon Kjaer and Edinson Cavani.

Denmark defender Kjaer and Uruguay striker Cavani have impressed Spurs boss Harry Redknapp, who has been working as an analyst for BBC at the tournament.

And Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini told Sky Italia: “(It’s) an offer we cannot refuse seeing as the two players have both said they want to leave.

“We will invest the money for these players. The midfield is my biggest concern, whereas in defence and attack we are fairly well covered.”

While Kjaer’s campaign with Denmark ended at the group stage, Cavani’s Uruguay face Ghana in the quarter-finals on Friday, and are 4/7 (totesport) ‘to qualify’ for the semi-finals. Cavani, himself, is 10/3 (Coral, William Hill) to score anytime.
