Ronaldinho sets sights on 2014 World Cup

World Cup Staff - 16 Nov 2010
Ronaldinho wants to boost his chances of playing in the 2014 World Cup by remaining at AC Milan beyond the current Serie A campaign.

The 30-year-old forward, left out of Brazil’s World Cup squad last summer, is out of contract at the end of the season and discussions are yet to be held over a new deal.

But despite rumours linking him to a reunion with former Milan team-mate David Beckham at Major League Soccer side Los Angeles Galaxy, Ronaldinho maintains he sees his future in Italy.

The Brazilian, left out of Milan’s side for the derby win over Inter Milan at the weekend, told Gazzetta dello Sport: “I reiterate one last time that I have no intention of leaving Milan.

“The success that I will get with the Rossoneri will give me the drive to achieve my lifelong dream, to play at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

“Take my name away from the transfer market because I’m happy at Milan.”
