World Cup Golden Ball betting - FIFA announce Golden Ball shortlist

World Cup Staff - 9 Jul 2010

FIFA have announced the 10 nominees for the Golden Ball award, with over half of the players listed coming from the World Cup finalists, Holland and Spain.

David Villa is the 7/4 favourite for the award with bet365, followed closely by Wesley Sneijder at 15/8.

Barcelona duo Xavi and Andres Iniesta will, however, get plenty of support at 9/2 and 11/2, respectively.

Spokesman Steve Freeth said: "Villa and Sneijder have dominated the betting for a while now, but Xavi and Iniesta seem to have hit form at the right time and it's a tough one to call."
